Casino Night 2009

The QAA Foundation’s annual Casino Night was held on November 21, 2009 and was a great success. In excess of $13,000.00 was raised.

The QAA Foundation’s annual Casino Night was held on November 21, 2009 and¬¬¬¬¬ was a great success. In excess of $13,000.00 was raised. The theme this year will be “Solid Gold” in honour of the Queen of Angels Academy’s 50th Anniversary at the Dorval location. Many of the attendees wore gold clothing and had a chance to win a chance at a lovely prize. Mr. Larry Day did a fantastic job hosting the event . Over the past years, many people have tried their luck at the gaming tables which have included Blackjack, Roulette, Poker and Texas Hold'um (which was a huge success), this year we also introduced some slot machines for the evening. Larry Day oversaw the Live Auction which offered all a chance to bid on fantastic items. Once again, the silent auction bidding continued right down to the last moment and people went home with lovely items. Balloon madness, the Card Game and the raffle gave some lucky people the chance to go home with great prizes. A light buffet was served. The Foundation would like to take this opportunity to thank all our sponsors, those who gave donations and/or prizes and to all who attended - you have all helped to make this a fun and successful evening. A thank you to all the volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure that everything was up and running smoothly when the doors opened and that things continued to go smoothly throughout the evening. Finally, but no less importantly, a thank you must go to the 2009 Casino Night organizing committee: George Saplywyj, Gail Polney, Fiorella Trinchini, Mandy Montour, Gerry Franzios, Margaret Buzas, Judy Frederick and Nicky Horvat; a great team who produced a great event. The decorating team led by Ms. Fiorella Trinchini did an exceptional job, the Sarto Des Noyer Community Center never looked better all decked out in gold!!
