![]() HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL
Queen of Angels Academy is a Catholic secondary school for girls owned by the Sisters of Saint Anne. It is an independent educational institution, accredited by the Québec Ministry of Education, and deemed to be in the public interest. The school is partially funded by a grant from the Ministry of Education. With origins from as far back as 1888, in the 1950s the school moved from St. Antoine West to Rosemont and, with a mere 100 students, was threatening to permanently close its doors. But in 1959, the Academy found a permanent site in Dorval. The Royal Montreal Golf Club (the oldest golf club in Canada) had sold much of its land to developers and had that same year found a new home on Ile Bizard, where it continues to operate today. It is its old clubhouse that is home today to Queen of Angels Academy.
